Da waren Sie wieder meine lieben Kontraste und das Spiel mit den Gegensätzen: Allerdings in einer anderen Form. Die Idee einer Schlips-Bananen-Kombination schwirrte mir schon länger durch den Kopf und dann fielen mir Tampons in die Hände.

Nach einigen wilden Versuchen bilden diese nun das Innenleben. Und auch die Schale warf diverse Fragen hinsichtlich Material und Umsetzung auf. Noch ein wenig Getüftel später, hatte sich auch dafür eine Lösung gefunden. Ich tastete mich voran und so kamen noch ein Kragen und ein mit Stoff überzogener Sockel hinzu – hier erfuhr ich übrigens wieder, warum Heißkleber seinen Namen trägt. Künstlern mit ganzem Einsatz.

Meine Arbeit kontrastiert das Weibliche – die Tampons – und das Männliche – in Form der Banane selbst als auch der Schale, die als Krawatte endet.

There you go again loving contrasts and playing with opposites: However, in a different manner. The idea of a tie-banana combination buzzed through my head for some time and then tampons fell into my hands.

After some wild attempts, these are now forming the inner life. And also the peel raised various questions regarding material and realization. A little bit of fiddling later, a solution was found. I fumbled my way forward and so a new collar and a base covered with fabric were added – by the way, here I learned again why hot glue bears its name. Artists with full power.

My work contrasts the feminine – the tampons – and the masculine – in the form of the banana itself as well as the peel that ends up as a tie.
