In meiner neuen Reihe „Genderisiert“ fiel das wunderbar praktische Taschenmesser eher unter das Attribut traditionell männlich.

Zum Glück weichen manche Traditionen auf, in meiner Arbeit in Form der Tampons. Andere „Traditionen“ bleiben und ich finde diese für beide Geschlechter gleichermaßen erschreckend: Das Thema Beschneidung! Mein Statement: Stoppt die Verstümmelung – insbesondere der Mädchen!

Die etwas sanftere Variante: Auch die Beschneidung der persönlichen Freiheit passt in die Zeit.

Ein kleines bisschen Illumination konnte ich mir nicht verkneifen und so lässt eine Lichterkette das Werk aus dem Inneren leuchten.

In my new „Gendered“ series, the wonderfully practical pocket knife fell more under the attribute of traditionally masculine.

Fortunately, some traditions are softening, in my work in the the shape of the tampons. Other „traditions“ persist and I find this one equally frightening for both sexes: the topic of circumcision! My statement: Stop the mutilation – especially of girls!

The somewhat gentler version: Also the circumcision of personal freedom fits into the time.

A little bit of illumination I could not deny myself and so a chain of lights lets the work shine from the inside.
