Sprachen und Dialekte finde ich unglaublich interessant und schön. Die Vielzahl und Vielfalt der Wörter faszinieren mich. Besonders angetan haben es mir die Homonyme, auch Teekesselchen genannt.
Doppelbödig und augenzwinkernd beschäftigte ich mich in dieser Arbeit mit den Kreuzfahrern. Die einen zogen aus, um Jerusalem zu erobern – das Fass der Religionen möchte ich hier lieber nicht aufmachen, obwohl es zum Thema Vielfalt passt – und nun, einige Jahrhunderte später, schippern die anderen über die Meere und fluten die Städte. Die blutigen Schlachten von einst wandelten sich zu Schlachten am Buffet. Kriege im Name der Religion blieben leider erhalten…

I love languages and dialects and I think they are incredibly interesting and beautiful. I am fascinated by the variety and diversity of words. I am particularly fond of homonyms, such as the word apple, which can mean both a healthy food as well as a technical device. In German, the word „Kreuzfahrer“ is used for both crusaders as well as passengers on cruise ships.
In this work, I dealt with the crusaders in an ambiguous and tongue-in-cheek way. Some set out to conquer Jerusalem – I’d rather not open the barrel of religions here, although it fits in with the theme of diversity – and now, a few centuries later, the others are sailing the seas and flooding the cities. The bloody battles of the past have turned into battles at the buffet. Wars in the name of religion unfortunately remained…
