Die Serie „Portrait of a Lady“ begleitet mich inzwischen seit einigen Jahren und ich hatte diese schon einige Male abgeschlossen. Die erste der Ladies habe ich nun noch einmal digital nachgezeichnet und etwas abgewandelt. Das Acrylbild ist 50 x 50 cm groß und weist durch das eingesetzte Gold eine wunderbare Lebendigkeit auf. Je nach Lichteinfall verändert sich das Bild.

Warum nun also eine digitale Illustration? Der Vorteil ist die variable Größe. Eine Vektordatei lässt sich verlustfrei vergrößern. Drucke lassen sich so in beliebiger Größe realisieren. Melden Sie sich bei Interesse gern bei mir. Wir finden den passenden Druckgrund (Leinwanddruck, Acrlyglas o.ä.).

Warum die Ladies mich nicht loslassen? Ich mag die Eleganz, die sie ausstrahlen. Die geschlossenen Augen lassen viel Raum für eigene Interpretationen und Gefühlsprojektionen. Sie wirken ruhig und friedlich – für mich ein Ausgleich zu all den schlimmen Dingen, die auf der Welt geschehen. Die Schönheit hat in der Kunst noch immer ihren Raum.

Es ist schwierig geworden mit digitalen Illustrationen, die Künstliche Intelligenz macht sich hier – wie in vielen Bereichen – ungemein schnell breit. Auch Vektordateien lassen sich mit kleinen Prompts inzwischen leicht generieren. Ich bin von der „alten Schule“ und zeichne noch händisch. Verrückte Zeiten!

The “Portrait of a Lady” series has been a part of my work for several years now, and I have completed it a number of times. I have now redrawn the first of the ladies digitally and made some modifications. The acrylic painting measures 50 x 50 cm and has a wonderful vibrancy due to the use of gold. The painting changes depending on how the light shines on it.

So why a digital illustration now? The advantage is the variable size. A vector file can be enlarged without any loss of quality. This allows prints to be produced in any size. Why do the ladies fascinate me so much? I love the elegance they exude. Their closed eyes leave a lot of room for personal interpretation and emotional projection. They seem calm and peaceful—to me, a compensation for all the terrible things happening in the world. Beauty still has its place in art.

Digital illustrations have become a bit of a challenge; artificial intelligence is taking over this field—as it is in many others—at an incredible pace. Even vector files can now be easily generated with just a few simple prompts. I’m “old school” and still draw by hand. What a crazy time we live in!
