Manche Ideen sind einfach „köstlich“, jedenfalls bei dem Thema Fischbrötchen. Während ich am Bis(s)marck-Brötchen arbeitete, beschlich mich ein Verdacht: Hier fehlt etwas. Und was? Natürlich die obligatorische Möwe. Kann man an der Küste etwas essen, ohne dass diese lustigen Gesellen auftauchen?

Ein Tag am Meer ist ein wahrer Seelenschmeichler. Das Meer rauscht, die Möwen kreischen, der Blick schweift umher und ehe man sich versieht sammelt man Muscheln oder Steine. Die kleinen Bausteine für das Glück. Ich weiß nicht, wie es Ihnen geht, mich macht die frische Seeluft hungrig und da kommt ein Fischbrötchen sehr gelegen.

Statt nun das Bis(s)marck-Brötchen zu ergänzen, modellierte ich ein zweites Brötchen, baute eine geheimnisvolle Box und statte diese mit einem Drehregler aus. Nun erscheint die große Möwe und der Clou: Sie kreischt nach einem kurzen Moment.

Natürlcih brauchte die Möwe einen nordischen Namen und eine kleine Anspielung auf einen wunderbar animierten Film durfte hier auch nicht fehlen.

Some ideas are simply “delicious”—at least when it comes to fish sandwiches. While I was working on the Bismarck sandwich, a suspicion came to me: something was missing. And what was it? The obligatory seagull, of course. Can you really eat anything on the coast without these funny little fellows showing up?

A day at the sea is a true treat for the soul. The sea murmurs, the seagulls squawk, your gaze wanders, and before you know it, you’re collecting shells or stones—the little building blocks of happiness. I don’t know about you, but the fresh sea air makes me hungry, and that’s when a fish sandwich comes in handy.

Instead of simply adding to the Bismarck sandwich, I sculpted a second bun, built a mysterious box, and equipped it with a dial. Now the big seagull appears, and here’s the highlight: after a brief moment, it screeches.

Of course, the seagull needed a Nordic name, and a little nod to a wonderfully animated film was a must here as well.
